While Legato is still recruiting and hiring talent, we are also adapting to changes caused by the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. We’ve made some modifications to our hiring process to follow COVID-19 social distancing guidelines and, most importantly, keep all of us safe. As a result, you may be asked to virtually connect with us during the application, recruitment, and onboarding experience. We encourage you to check your email regularly for notifications and updates throughout the entire hiring process.

We want employees who can help us deliver on our business objectives and reflect our values and leadership commitments. We have zero tolerance for bullying, harassment or any other behavior that stifles innovation and collaboration.

Your Application Journey

Our process begins with our recruitment team reviewing your resume for qualifications that fit the job description. Review the job posting thoroughly to ensure your resume reflects the requirements of the role and upload your latest resume before submitting your application for our initial screening process.

If you meet the basic criteria we will proceed to the next stage. If we decide not to move forward with your application you will be notified in a timely manner by email. We also encourage you to apply for other roles at Legato that match your experience, interests, and profile.

Most roles at Legato require an online assessment. The exam takes 30 to 60 minutes to complete, depending on the role, and is designed to help us understand how good of a fit you are for the job.

How the assessment works:

  • You will receive an email invitation to our online assessment portal if your resume has been shortlisted for the role. You will not need to download any software to take our assessment.
  • The sooner you complete the test, the sooner you will progress to the next steps. If it is a coding test you will need your laptop for the assessment.
  • The email invitation will include instructions for the exam.
  • Make sure that you have a stable internet connection so that you can fully concentrate on the assessment and are not interrupted during the exam. If you are completing a numerical test, using a calculator and a notepad are encouraged.
  • After answering all the questions you will see an on-message on the screen informing you that you have successfully completed the exam.
  • We will then follow up with you about the next steps.

Once you complete your video interview, your next interview could be a telephone interview, a video interview, or a face-to-face interview. The type and number of additional interviews depends on the role you applied for.

We want to see that you have thought about your career choice while we carefully consider your skills, experience, and abilities. You should be able to demonstrate your clear interest in Legato and the business world and that you have the right values what it takes to be a “Legato Professional”. Our Mission, Vision and Values are available for review at www.legato.com. Please note, the in-person interview could be a telephone, video, or face-to-face interview.

If we feel this a good match our Talent Acquisition operations team will extend an offer letter for employment. Once the offer has been accepted, our Talent Acquisition will initiate the background check process.

Tips For A Successful Video Interview

  • Do an early system check: Log into the system early. By doing this you can check the camera, internet connection, and microphone. The system will notify you if there are any issues and provide a confirmation of its success. You can close your browser and come back later once you are ready for your interview.
  • Do your research: Learn about Legato, specifically about the job and role to which you are applying.
  • Check the lighting and background: Place the light source in front of you and avoid bright light sources behind you, as this makes it hard for us to see your face. Choose a nice and comfortable location.
  • Check your internet connection and camera: You will need a stable internet connection for recording a good quality video interview. You will need a device with a camera and microphone (e.g. a computer, laptop, tablet, or mobile phone), be sure to check they are in working form prior to your interview.
  • Be on time: We advise you to log into the system earlier and are ready to start once the interview begins.
  • Dress code: Business casual is fine. Keep in mind how you want to present yourself and how to make a positive first impression.
  • Presenting yourself: Your body language will say a lot more about you than you expect.
  • Minimize distractions: Turn off your mobile phone if it is not the device you are using for recording. Turn off anything else that might distract you, as this will be captured when you are recording your response.
  • Speak clearly: Express yourself clearly and concisely.
  • Be specific: Remember you have a limited amount of time to respond and complete the interview.
  • Smile: This will help you to relax and better engage with us. It may seem odd talking to a computer, so imagine you are talking to someone you know well and try to be as natural as possible.

Remember, we just want to get to know you better!
